Ella Core v1.4 introduces Network Flow Visibility, a new feature that allows network administrators to understand exactly how subscribers access external network.
Ella Core captures metadata for each incoming packet, aggregates it in flows, and makes it accessible through both the UI and API. Each flow includes:
- Subscriber ID - Direction (uplink/downlink)
- Source (IP and Port)
- Destination (IP and Port)
- Protocol
- Number of packets
- Number of bytes
- Start and end time
Alongside the raw flow data, Ella Core aggregates traffic by protocol and top 10 destinations, presenting the results in interactive pie charts. This makes it easy to instantly see where network traffic is going and which protocols are consuming bandwidth.
Network Flow Visibility provides deep insight into traffic across your private 5G network. It enables operators to answer questions such as:
- Which subscriber accessed a specific destination at 11:53?
- How much bandwidth is used for a particular destination?
These insights are super useful for observability, security analysis, network troubleshooting, and compliance monitoring.
